Today is a great day for the $1000 Affiliate Experiment. I have grossed over $1000 affiliate marketing!

Thats right, I have met my $1000 goal in gross profit, and I couldn’t be happier. It all happened in less than three months too, which isn’t all that bad. If anyone has been following my progress, you might be wondering where all the extra dough came from, but ill be addressing that once I finish up my BANS from scratch series.
You may also notice that my net profit appeared to go down. The reason for that is because I decided to include my $98.00 hosting fee and $97.00 BANS software fee into the final equation, where I hadn’t been doing so previously.
The next Goal I’m setting is to obviously make $1000 in net profit using affiliate marketing, and I have a feeling that will not be all that far away. The lesson here is that I did it starting from nothing, and that means YOU can do it starting from nothing as well.

Your terminology is completely wrong. You’ve had $1,000 income NOT profit
Profit is defined as…
‘The return received on a business undertaking AFTER ALL operating expenses’ hence what you are calling ‘net profit’ is actually your gross profit. Your net profit is this value after taxes.

Thanks everyone, yes, it does work haha.
@Nathan: However you want to define it, the main point of this post was to show that I made $1000 online. Profit, Gross Profit, “Income”, whatever it was, it totaled up to $1000 and I a, pretty happy about it

Congratulations on reaching your first goal. Besides your hosting and BANS script purchase what did you expenses go towards?

I have been hitting PPC pretty hardcore lately, just trying to find different things that work, and i have spent a lot of money doing it.
Most of my expense is from AdWords, but some of the others include $50.00 to Facebook for a stupid experiment i did back in November, $25.00 to SumbleUpon ads because I misunderstood their system, and my 10+ domain names.

Hey Eric, in an earlier month report you had said that you were reducing your PPC spending in favor of free advertising methods (forums, I think).
Now, to increase the success of a business (and generate more coin), there must be two characteristics: scalability and pipeline.
I don’t think you will have a problem with pipeline, becuase you could probably set up more BANS sites for different niches, or perhaps stick with particular niche, and maybe cross promote between them.
However, if you pesonally had to sit in forums and plug out posts/responses, that could strain your ability for scaling up a business, obviously.
Whats the plan of attack?

Mad props Eric! I am going to be following your blog more closely than I have been. I always like to learn the latest affiliate strategies that work and am interested in your BANS series. I have considered purchasing a BANS, but haven’t made the move yet. How much have you made so far from only BANS? Have you tried using phpBay?
Keep up the great work!

@Kunal
When I said I was using forums, I mean for link building only. Any traffic I get from forums would be a bonus, but the main idea is to get some PR juice. As far as “cutting back my PPC spending”, well that didn’t happen. haha. I have spent more on PPC this month than I have in the last 3 months combined. But I have learned a WHOLE hell of a lot. I’ll be sharing that soon enough.
@Andrew
I have made $450 (about $200/month) with BANS so far, and this only with one store. I’m hoping my project-cars-for-sale.com site works out just as good.
Speaking of phpBay, I actually got my hands on a copy of it this past week and have setup some stores. What I would like to do is make an exact copy of one of my BANS stores with phpBay and see how they compare. From what I have seen so far, they are both VERY different, and both have their strengths and weakness’

OOH, ok. That makes sense, then.
Because I was wondering how you would scale up the biz if you were relying on forums for traffic.
Yeah, PPC can be quite an expensive learning curve. But is well worth it!
